Long one of the world’s most recognized natural history institutions, the American Museum of Natural History has undergone a long-term transformation into a top tourist destination. Throughout this transformation, AMNH has grappled with classic attractions challenges such as capacity management, guest service quality, and providing a diverse and repeatable visitor experience.
Beginning in 1992 with our first operational audit of the facility, MR ProFun’s relationship with AMNH continues today. MR ProFun’s contributions have included on-going capacity management strategy for the museum’s temporary exhibitions, the establishment of AMNH’s Visitors Services organization, and on-site operational planning for the opening of the world famous Rose Center for Earth and Space.
With its attendance now exceeding five million visitors annually, AMNH is the ninth most-visited museum in the world and its traveling exhibits are among the most sought-after shows worldwide. Our role in Operations Planning for AMNH has been one important factor in the museum’s ability to achieve its phenomenal growth and continue to deliver one of the most compelling museum guest experiences available today.
