The Challenge
One of the world’s best known car brands, Volkswagen, sought to revolutionize automobile branding with the opening of a first-ever theme park dedicated to the VW brand—its products, its legacy, and its role in paving a new future for the automotive industry. The “People’s Car” knew it needed an experienced partner to support the hard work of bringing this innovative new attraction product to the people of Germany.
Our Role
For more than two years, MR ProFun professionals worked to assist VW with the realization of its vision for Autostadt. Supporting critical aspects of operations planning, our team oversaw the planning, implementation and pre-opening management of park Operations for this 28-hectare complex, including its visitor service facilities, theater attractions, and corporate museum.
Value Delivered
Volkswagen’s Autostadt established a new benchmark for mass-scale corporate attractions when it opened in 2000—and it remains the standard by which all such attractions are measured today, hosting more than 2 million visitors annually. MR ProFun is proud of the vital role we played in the development of an attraction that earned a THEA Award in its first year of operation in 2000.
